ISSUES & PROBLEM SOLVING

() Issue dry brushing over Army painter glossiness. No tooth on surface to hold paint during dry brush which caused paint to smear around and wipe off areas

() ? look-up using satin/luster spray for better drybrushing. Has tooth for paint to hold.

The Boy's Earth Day Diorama

My son had the assignment of making a piece of art to represent Earth Day, and he was excited because he could make a diorama. I shaped the base for him and I had him apply the glue and add the ground cover. He picked out and modified the pieces and I glue them on the base. His class mates were very impressed by the final results.

Father & Son Hobby Days

 

My son got the itch to work on model I bought him in the summer. With all the free time he has over the Easter holiday, he had no problem pushing me to help him finish model. I also bought him a Revell snap-together police car to work on all by him self.

Pegasus 1/48 California Gold Miners

Comments: I bought this kit for my Father-In -Law for his birthday with the intent to build a diorama for his Mining Club's County Fair Booth. This was a full Homer gift (Ref.) with me building & painting the figure. The final diorama went over big with everyone, and I learned a great deal about figure painting & diorama building. I still have a lot of work to do on diorama for the 2013 County Fair, including adding water effects & a Plexiglas cover.

Comments: This is just about the only painted German equipment (Other than Tiger tank from the 90's) I have at this time. it was done in Panzer gray. Done with out any painting trick, but it's not too bad for early attempt.

Comments: This is one of the few completed kits I have. Done in dark green as all my first generation  WWII Russians. It looks good for early attempt.
